OK – so Google announces a new C based programming language: Go<\/a>, and it is immediately picked up by bloggers \u00e2\u20ac\u201c (us included, arrgghh) And as a company that programs in a whole slew of languages we want to know what we can do with it. In reality the answer is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153not much yet\u00e2\u20ac\u009d
Other than proving that anything Google does make news, I concur with blogger Robert Bravery<\/a>. Google Go won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t Go anywhere. Ixnay on the object oriented, it isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t scalable, no plug in architecture, stiff learning curve,\u00c2  there isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t a platform that HAS to have Go (like Objective C) and the list goes on and on. Lastly on the list of positives I just didn’t see anything that got me that excited.
